Stars on Ice: A Tribute to Advocacy
During a recent awards ceremony, celebrities showcased black-and-white pins inscribed with ?ICE Out? and ?Be Good? to honor the memory of Rene Nicole Good and Keith Porter Jr., who tragically lost their lives due to actions by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. This poignant display aimed to shed light on the concerning issue of violence associated with ICE operations.
The pins were part of the #BeGood campaign, which seeks to raise awareness about these incidents while promoting kindness and solidarity within communities. Notable figures such as Mark Ruffalo, Wanda Sykes, and Ariana Grande participated in this initiative, wearing the pins both on the red carpet and during the event.
Organized by entertainment industry professionals and supported by various advocacy groups, the campaign emphasizes the importance of collective action in addressing social injustices. The grassroots effort aims to engage artists and entertainers in fostering dialogue and awareness throughout the awards season.
Stars On Ice Sunrise Sport reviews
Great event
We really enjoyed being able to see these amazing skaters up close. Just seeing them on television doesn't do their artistry and talent justice. I was a little sad that all of the pairs skaters were ice dancers. While I love ice dancing, I would have enjoyed seeing some of the more athletic aspects of pairs skating.
There were two things that I did not enjoy:
1. The music was WAY TOO LOUD! I felt I had to cover my ears constantly.
2. The skaters almost exclusively chose music that was of the same style (loud, loud, loud). There were a couple of exceptions (Cinderella was fabulous!)
